Cinderella Made Work look Easy!

"wonders why I used to think Cinderella looked so cool scrubbing the floor on her hands and knees when I was little. I even tried singing the song. It didn't help or make the chore fun. Dang you Cinderella and your false advertisement!!!"

This was posted on a friend's facebook status. It cracked me up so much because I totally did the same thing as a kid.

OH and that snap your fingers like Mary Poppins did to clean up their room spic and span quickly! Disney warped me to believe that cleaning COULD be fun and quick!

BAH!

So progress on our backyard is coming along! We finished the dog run picket fence, and laid the sod. It's amazing how nice the sod looks. I have the landscape plans for the plantings next. I am excited to get this done. Hopefully the little man will play outside a lot this summer when baby #2 comes along. We sure are working a lot to get it ready for it when the time comes.

I'm thinking about hosting my "tea" party this spring. I had semi-planned one for last year with my friends and their little girls, but with Anthony's surgery, all plans went out the door. Instead of tea I was thinking of using lemonade (for our little girls... plus I think tea is yuk!) Finger sandwiches, scones, muffins, and chocolate! What couldn't be complete without chocolate!

Speaking of chocolate

Thank Heavens Cadbury Eggs are back.

I missed those sugary balls of joy.

Old Hands, Young Hands

Every Tuesday my son goes with my mom to a local retirement community. It started as a something to do for fun, but has turned into something so much more.
Apparently a few of the residents now await each Tuesday afternoon in anticipation to see their little friend.
I am so happy and proud that my son is getting a chance to bring someone joy and love even if he isn't aware of what he is doing.

I hope this is something that will instill important values such as compassion, love, charity, and service. I hope he continues to enjoy these visits, and that he will continue to do them when he gets of an age to understand.

He waves, and "chats" in his own language to anyone who will listen. He plays with their wheelchairs and walkers, and entertains them with his smile, laughter and youthful appeal. He walks the halls like the owns the joint.

My son who is 1 and a half years old has done more compassionate service for his fellow man than I have done while he has been alive.

I know we teach our little children, but in this case he has been the one to teach me.

Another Cute Thing Done by My Son

At our church all positions are done voluntarily. During the Sacrament meetings a vote is taken by the congregation to see if everyone is OK with who will be doing what job. They ask those in favor raise their hands, then they ask if anyone opposes to do the same. This is a common practice.

This previous Sunday I was playing the organ, so I was up front viewing everyone. Hubby and our little man were sitting on my side of the building in plain view.

During this vote, I noticed that Anthony decided to join in. But of course during the "If anyone opposes" part. It was so adorable. Sitting there in his little suit and tie, watching everyone around him raise their hands, he wanted to do the same. Name after name that was called, the only one in the entire congregation who would raise their hand in opposition, was my son. He looked proud to be doing his part.

R.I.P

I miss you. Very much. Too much actually. I think it is a good thing to take a"break" for a while, but I'm like a obsessed teenage love-relationship. I can't get enough of you. I had to eat my dinner in silence tonight. I usually had your company when he is gone, now all I have is the silence and my mind. I could read, now I have the time at night. But I miss the light shining from you, and the laughter you would always have there waiting for me. I miss your mind numbing thoughtless trance you could put me in. I need that. I crave that.

I miss you, when will you be back dear DVR/TV?
3-5 days the service tech told me.
I anxiously await for you.

.......I miss you

Grab one down.... and pass it around

What's that you say?

Colds? Flu? Ear Infections? Cough? Misery?

Well whatever it is, the little man and I share it all.
For three months now he and I have been sick over and over and over and

I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED!

Plus I can't take much for it too, which I think makes it worse. Not that I am a druggie or anything, but a shot of NyQuil would REALLY be nice!

Anthony's ear exploded out pus last night, kinda freaking us out. We are heading to the dr to get it checked in a few hours. He had ear tubes placed last year, so hopefully they are still intact and that it was those working, and not a ruptured ear drum.

I too have an ear infection, I was precribed antibiotics but nothing seems to be helping. Espcially not the pez (regular strength tylenol) that I am eating.

I kinda wish that my ear would explode just to relieve the dang pressure. I know that's bad.

Yo soy el jefe!

We are working in the backyard. We have a few large projects going on in our house at this time.

Wish us luck! Hubby is home for a couple weeks and we are trying to tackle some projects that have been discussed for a while now.

Since I'm in a jolly mood, and my husband is Mexican. I love to throw out some Spanish phrases just to make him feel like he is really working, and not on a work break.

Eres un gran hombre fuerte, como un trabajo!

Eres un cerdo lento! Usted necesidad de trabajar más rápidamente!

Si usted trabaja duro y son buenas para mí, quizás voy a cocinar una buena comida caliente.

hmmmmmmm probably not translated correctly, and probably never would I really say anything like that to him anyway. But it could lead to an interesting afternoon.....or a fight.

But speaking of hot meals, I apparently need to make Corned Beef and Cabbage since I have denied him his favorite meal. Whatever. I just think it stinks up the house.
